United States: Huawei Technologies is planning significant job cuts in the United States because of being blacklisted by the Trump administration, reports the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) citing people familiar with the matter.
We expect job cuts to mainly affect Futurewei Technologies, the Chinese telecoms giant’s research and development subsidiary, which employs some 850 people in the United States.
According to one of the WSJ’s sources, it threatens hundreds of jobs. Huawei has offered Chinese employees to return to China to pursue their careers, another source said.
Huawei did not respond to Reuters’ solicitations for commenting on this information.
