IMF calls for measures against virtual currency

[Washington Co., Ltd.] The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said on August 15 that the pace of increasing use of crypto assets (virtual currency) should be “not underestimated” and that measures should be taken early showed that. He pointed out that there is a risk of affecting monetary policy management.

Concerning virtual currency, Facebook, a primary US exchange site, is planning to introduce “Libra” and is expected to become famous. The IMF explained that the communications app “wats up” under Facebook was rapidly spreading and that 1.5 billion users were in the world, “it’s one of the good examples spread through the network.” It also suggested that the use of Libra could expand rapidly.
