Prime Minister Shinzo Abe reshuffles the cabinet in the first half of September.

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has decided to change the cabinet in the first half of September and carry out LDP executive appointments. The new system will be considered based on the results of the House of Councilors election on 21st.

The prime minister will attend the peace ceremonies of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in early August, respectively, and a national memorial ceremony will be held in Tokyo on the 15th. The seven significant countries (G7) summits held in France and the African Development Conference in Yokohama will be held in late August. Meanwhile, the UN General Assembly will be held in New York in late September. Based on such a schedule, the prime minister wants to renew the administration’s system at the end of the diplomatic agenda until the end of August and to increase the cohesion force for the fall special session of the Diet.

In the cabinet reshuffle and party executive personnel affairs, the focus will be on the appointment of “Post-Abe” candidates such as Fumio Kishida and the chief cabinet secretary Kanio Yoshihiro. 【Noguchi Takenori】
