USA: Housing starts slightly below expectations: Housing starts fell 0.9% in June in the United States, according to the Department of Commerce’s seasonally adjusted data, at 1,253,000 in annualized terms, where the consensus expected 1,260,000.

The number of building permits, supposed to foreshadow future housing starts, came in at 6.1% to 6.120 million, well below the 1,300,000 expected by economists on average.
