US threatens to punish Algerian companies

The United States of America has threatened to penalize companies that will take part in the 61st edition of the Damascus International Fair (Syria).

The US Embassy in Syria reacted to the fact that companies and chambers of commerce are preparing to take part in the fair in Damascus: “We have received reports that some businessmen or regional chambers of commerce are planning to take part in the Damascus International Trade Fair. We reiterate our warning that those who will do business with the Assad regime and its associates will be exposed to possible US sanctions. “

The same source reiterated that “it is unacceptable and inappropriate for non-Syrian companies and chambers of commerce to take part in the Damascus International Trade Fair, especially at the moment when the Assad regime and its allies Russia and the IRGC (Islamic Revolution Guard Corps: a paramilitary organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran, ed) are attacking innocent Syrians in Idleb and Hama “.

Recall that Algeria will participate, under the aegis of the Ministry of Commerce, to the fair held from August 28 to September 6, 2019, with ten exhibitors representing several sectors, said a statement from the Algerian Society of Fairs and Exports (Safex ).
