Xavi Hernandez: “Barça is a dream but now I’m focused on Al Sadd”

Xavi Hernandez News: The coach does not verify the talks accepted by the Qatari club’s sports chief.

Al-Saad coach Xavi Hernández did not confirm the talks with Barça this Saturday while he remembered Bein Sports as “a fantasy” is to lead his former club. “Now I’m focused on Al Sadd with whom we’ve got a crucial final,” he added after winning 4-1 at Al Rayyan and qualifying for next Friday’s Qatar Cup final.

Xavi explained that he met for coffee with Barça’s technical representative, Eric Abidal, offering no further details of the meeting. “I admire Valverde, who is Barça’s boss,” Xavi said Saturday he would consult with the Catalan club, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Barça’s general manager and Eric Abidal remain in Doha waiting to meet with Xavi again, from whom it anticipates this Sunday if he suggests he will automatically become the Barca coach replacing Ernesto Valverde.

Xavi Hernandez will revisit Oscar Grau and Eric Abidal this Saturday.

If the meeting between carscar Grau was reported on Friday, Al Sadd, the technical director, Eric Abidal, and Xavi, provided further information on Saturday. Muhammad Ghulam Al Balushi, the sports director of the Qatari team, made statements to the Alkass TV channel. “There are negotiations between Xavi and Barcelona. Wherever he goes, we wish him success,” he said before the game that Al Sadd faced Al Rayyan.

Al Balushi’s comment merges the announcement made by the Qatari club through the club’s general manager, Turki Al Ali, who had already announced the talks on Friday and invited Barça to negotiate with Qatar’s squad formally.
