François Legault calls for the dismantling of the blockade of Saint-Lambert

François Legault requires police to break the blockade at Saint-Lambert by the Longueuil agglomeration.

He stated in a press briefing at the National Assembly that he wanted to proceed as long as CN’s appeal for an injunction was received. “We will uninstall as long as the injunction is issued.” CN essentially secured an injunction a few minutes later, said Olivier Quenneville, the senior director of public affairs at CN.

“It’s on a Quebec territory, it’s not on land which belongs to the Indians,” he claimed.

Rather, it is up to the Peacekeepers to enforce the injunctions in Kahnawake territory, where another blockade is still taking place, he added.

Protesters were still blocking the railways in Saint-Lambert on Thursday morning to signify their solidarity with the demands of the Wet’suwet’en Aboriginal nation, which refuses to allow the Coastal GasLink pipeline to pass through their territory in British Columbia.
