Protests continue in Kota against Rani Mukherjee’s film ‘Mardani 2’. Councilor Gopal Manda here sent a legal notice to the Censor Board Chairman Prasoon Joshi, the film’s producer Aditya Chopra, Aditya Chopra, director Gopi Puthran and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, requesting the city to be removed from the film. According to lawyer Ashwin Garg, in the notice, the demand for the renaming of Kota in the movie has been made with the claim that it tarnishes the image of the city and also warns that till the name of the town is removed, Screening of the film will be stopped, and the case will be taken to the High Court.
The controversy has started since the release of the film’s trailer. It shows a serial rapist and a murderer who brings young girls to his target in the city; Some say that the actual incident inspires it. Rani Mukherjee is reprising her role as a police officer Shivani Roy in the film, who catches the criminal in two days.
