PARIS – According to data from the Ministry of Health, the number of COVID-19 patients hospitalized in intensive care units in France increased again on Friday, following a small decline the day before, and over 40,000 recent cases of coronavirus contamination were counted.

According to data released on the Geodes platform of Public Health France, a total of 5,757 patients are reportedly in critical care, up 52 from Thursday.

In hospitals throughout the country, 341 recent deaths reported in the last 24 hours, up from 343 on Thursday. In total, we have reported 358 additional deaths because of COVID as a result of the nursing home integration, with a total toll of 98,395.

Since the outbreak began, the number of confirmed cases has risen by 41,243 to a total of 4,980,501, according to the Public Health France website. This figure had risen to nearly 85,000 on Thursday, but it contained information that had not been released the day before.

According to statistics from the Directorate General of Health, 10,507,294 patients got their first vaccine and 3,601,263 received a booster.
