After hitting an electric pole on route 203 in Havelock, Montérégie, a person died, trapped in his burning vehicle on Saturday afternoon.
The person’s death was reported on the spot, Sûreté du Québec’s Sergeant Marie-Michèle Moore stated. At this point, the victim’s age or gender remains unknown; the corpse has been sent to the Forensic Sciences and Forensic Medicine Laboratories to try to learn more about its identification and the potential causes of the accident.
The vehicle made a break from the path a little before 12:30 p.m., while it was traveling south on Route 203, according to initial information from the SQ. By reaching an electric pole, it ended its pursuit and then took fire.
There was no other person on board, and the crash affected no other car. The investigation seeks to investigate the causes of the accident.
