Looking for tips to Improve PC performance then yeah, you’re in the right place.

It’s also possible that because of the pandemic, you’ve got to pick a distant school or home office, so your machine has been an inseparable friend. However, over time, these machines reveal faults in their efficiency, making the user experience the greatest. Luckily, certain tricks can be used.

Tips to Improve PC performance By Kingston

As Kingston explains, over the years, it is common for computers to slow down and they produce hardware that requires operating with some software features, and as time progresses, it gets more demanding.

Others are avoiding having to work in intense dissatisfaction, and others are opting to invest in a new squad. However, some recommendations can improve the efficiency and speed of your machine.

Kingston suggests the following 10 solutions:

1.- Check for new updates

This intervention is important to get the best out of your PC because it solves the typical bugs that exist that decrease device performance. Updates boost the efficiency of your computer.

2.- Restart

This helps to speed up the system. When the PC is left on for weeks or stored in sleep mode, programs and workloads accumulate in memory that slow down everyday activities such as starting programs or accessing data.

3.- Disable startup programs.

Often the machine is programmed to launch programs that are not used and slow down system output at initialization. To disable them, go to the “Task Manager” tab and press the “Start” tab. By monitoring the “start-up impact” you can check which programs are slowing down the machine and disable it by right-clicking the program in question.

4.- Free up disk space

This function built into Windows 10 allows you to delete unwanted temporary files, downloaded application files, and even temporary internet files. To use this tool, open the Windows menu and check for the “Disk Cleanup” option, pick the files to remove, and press the “Clean System Files” button. Another recommendation is to go to the Downloads folder to delete files that take up space and are not necessary.

5.- Delete old software

It is also popular for computers to have third-party applications pre-installed, which is not required and takes up significant storage space. To find and delete them, go to Control Panel, Programs, and Functions, and Uninstall a program.

6.- Disable special effects

Windows 10 has several features that add value to the user interface, which is active by nature and slows down the device. To disable it, open the Windows menu and check for “System,” pick the “Advanced System Settings” tab and disable it.

7.- Disable transparency effects

This influence takes more machine energy than you expect. To disable the transparency results, you need to open the Windows menu and enter “Color Settings” in the search bar. From here, scroll down to the “Transparency Effects” button.

8.- Execute system maintenance

Windows 10 has built-in features that execute routine system maintenance functions. This involves defragmentation of hard discs, checking for patches, and scanning for ransomware and viruses. It runs in the background while the PC is idle, but it can also be performed manually in “Control Panel” and “Security and Maintenance.”

9.- Improve RAM

While Windows 10 requires a minimum of 4GB to operate, it is necessary to have more space for intense system workloads, such as running certain games or generating media. To check what type of RAM your computer requires, open “Task Manager” (Ctrl + Alt + Del), press “Performance” and decide how many memory slots are available, and what type of RAM it needs.

10.- Upgrade the storage

This improves the speed and performance of the PC. Although solid-state drives (SSD) are becoming more and more common, many computers still come from the factory with hard drives an SSD can replace that. The latter come in different sizes or form factors (2.5 and M.2, for desktops and laptops, respectively) and depend on the system requirements of the PC. It should be noted that it is possible to transfer all the files and documents from the hard drive to the new SSD, so your information is not lost.
