At least five individuals were murdered, 15 were wounded in the Turkish province of Balikesir after a bus with passengers caught fire, Hurriyet reports.
According to the newspaper, there were 37 people on the bus. According to the mayor of the province, the coffee machine was initially set on fire, after which the driver stopped the bus and asked the passengers to evacuate. But panic began, and a crush started at the exit of the bus.
“Our initial assumption is that five people breathed toxic fumes and died in the fire,” said the mayor of the province who quotes the publication.
Among the dead – one child. It took the injured to hospitals. Ambulances, police, and firefighters arrived at the scene of the incident.
